The American Boot Camp Company's TRX suspension classes are by far the most effective form of cross training for my running. No two classes are ever the same - some days are heavy on the abs/core, while others focus on legs or are more cardio-driven. The exercises on the TRX are no joke, but there is no better feeling than when you master a tough move for the first time.
Since my 1 year anniversary training with TABCC is Monday I thought I'd give them a shout out. In a year Mari and her instructors have helped me drop over 50 lbs and cut almost 2 minutes off my mile sprint time, My cholestrol went from borderline to incredibly good. My blood pressure went from bad (141/90) to amazing (115/72). They've encouraged me to work hard and push myself. I'd only run one 10k before starting boot camp last year and now I'm training for my first 1/2 marathon.
I have been a regular client of The American Boot Camp Company's for over 2 years now and I can say with absolute confidence that they are one of the very best in town without a doubt!!! I never thought of myself as a "runner" or someone who would ever be capable of a running a race, much less a long-distance race.

I have been working out with TABCC on and off for 7 years. I took a couple years off to have kids and have now been consistently working out with them for over a year. The instructors are wonderful and very helpful. Mari (the lead instructor) is the BEST! She's very passionate about fitness and helping you achieve your fitness goals. I NEVER thought I would ever run a seven minute mile again. TABCC made it happen! TABCC has helped me shed all my baby weight and more! Going back and sticking with it is hands down one of the best decisions I've ever made!
Sure, it was hard as hell waking up every day at 430am and I never really got used to the fact that I was ready to pass out every night by 8pm. But the workout was fantastic! I was pushed beyond any limit I'd ever imagined and reached goals I never dreamed I could.
The instructors were amazing - I never could have made it without them pushing me. They know everyone's name the first day and understand that not everyone is at the same fitness level. Instead they push each person to reach their own individual best and there are enough of them to really keep everyone going.

The trainers don't just tell you what to do, but they do it with you, and lead by example. Still, to this day, the trainers encourage me to reach for my goal, and then, push beyond it. The other campers become your support, your motivation, and your inspiration. You become a team, and success is shared by all. Every day is a challenge, every day provides something new, and everyday my 'okay' body, gets better and better. Twenty-five pounds lighter, stronger and healthier than I have EVER been, I am a boot camp addict.
